Dermal Fillers:

Twenty-five years ago Collagen was the only injectable available to us on the market. Over the past 8 years, there are so many alternatives. After consulting with Kathy, together we can devise a plan that will best meet your needs.

Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus.use a non-animal derived Hyaluronic acid, (which is found in our joints.) A skin test prior to treatment is not necessary. These products are safe and very effective in treating:

• Frown lines
• Crows feet
• Under eye troughs
• Vertical lip lines
• Acne scars
• Lip augmentation

Radiesse is a dermal filler made of calcium-based microspheres in a water based gel.It is a heavier substance that is effective for facial contouring such as augmenting cheek bones and softening jowls. It has recently been used to build up the bridge of the nose or eliminate a dorsal “hump”.

Perlane and Juvederm Ultra Plus are the heavier of the hyaluonic acid fillers and can also achieve these effects.

All of the above products are FDA approved.

A nerve block or topical anesthetic may be given prior to treatment for patient comfort. Bruising is possible but not common in most areas of the face. It will be suggested to refrain from aspirin containing products 2 weeks prior to treatment if bruising is a concern.

Results are immediate and depending on the product, results may last 6 to 18 months. After the procedure we will ask that you refrain from exercise, avoid dehydration, (including alcohol consumption),and drink plenty of water over the next 6 hours.

  Botox Injection:

Botulism Toxin is a purified form of one of the most potent poisons in the world. In high doses, it can cause the clinical disease botulism. However, when carefully injected in very low doses, botulism toxin is a modern tool that can reduce the signs of aging. Injecting Botox into the skin is quick and easy in office procedure that takes less than 15 minutes. The toxin blocks nerve signals transmitted from the brain to the muscle, causing paralysis of the injected muscle. It works locally by inhibiting the release of acetycholine, a neurotransmitter, from the nerve.

By paralyzing the effected muscle, botox softens frown lines, crows feet and other wrinkles. The effects of the Botox usually takes 3 to 5 days, although some patients report it taking up to 2 weeks. The effected wrinkles will smooth out from disuse of the muscle. Since Botox decreases the ability to frown or squint, it also safely and effectively prevents the progressive worsening of these lines over time. It works beautifully in conjunction with peels and resurfacing procedures to prevent movement induced wrinkles.

  Refinity Peel:

Many patients cannot afford the “downtime” necessary for the Jessners’ and TCA peel. The refinity peel is ideal for this patient. It is a 70% glycolic peel with cosmoderm 7 added to the ingredients. This patented ingredient was formulated by Mark Rubin a top dermatologist in the skin care industry This formula acts as an anti-irritant; you get the effects of a 70% glycolic with virtually no downtime. It is recommend to start with a series of three, 7 to 10 days apart, and then maintain the results by having one every 4 to 6 weeks.

  Retin-A Peel:

This is a relatively new peel to be introduced to the skin care professional. It is highly effective in removing the outer layer of the skin, thus having a fresher look. You do have post peeling, but it only lasts about 4 days as compared to 7 days with the Jessner.
