The Art of Permanent Makeup

The manual technique of permanent makeup tattooing, closely mirrors the ancient art of tattooing. In recent years, this creative and inventive art form has penetrated the beauty industry and the medical field.

Today, with technology and our ability to use this ancient art, the application of eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip color enhances your total look. The technique is done by hand, not a machine, using an etching motion which deposits color approximately .08 mm below the surface of the skin. The sensation of permanent makeup tattooing can be compared to that of electrolysis or to tweezing the eyebrows. A topical agent is used to make the the procedure more comfortable and for the lips a dental block is given.
  • Eyebrows: are meant to be a frame for the eyes and give your face expression and character.
  • Eyeliner: enhances and defines the beauty of the eyes. It makes the the lashes appear thicker even when not wearing mascara.
  • Lip Liner or Full Lip Color: can correct uneven lips as well as stop lipstick from traveling into fine lines. It will also enhance lip color that is lost with age.
Men can benefit from permanent makeup tattooing as well as women. Brows can be replaced that have been lost from alopecia or chemotherapy. However, the vast majority of women who choose permanent makeup tattooing just want to save time and have the convenience of makeup that won't smear, smudge, or rub off! I have been interested in providing the service of permanent makeup to my patients for many years, but was unimpressed with the stamped on look that the machines can create. Once I saw the natural looking results obtained with the hand method, I knew it was the technique for my patients and I!
